- JOSEPH KILKOLLY and his Mary had been married thirty-two years. Fate had dealt unkindly with Joseph. Joseph never learnt to write and then at 46 he suffered serious head injuries, which affected his brain, and he was warned by the doctor to abstain from alcoholic liquor.
There, were nine children of the marriage, the eldest thirty and the younger two under sixteen at the time of the separation in Oct 1928.(NZ Truth 11 Oct 1928) [3]
